Focus Atelier

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

In short

  • There’s no account, no login, no ads, no usage analytics and no tracking.
  • Your progress (your critter, paint, house, paintings and focus history) is stored only on your iPhone.
  • Payments are processed by Apple. To confirm Focus Atelier Pro and the packs, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous ID and your purchase history, never your name or email.
  • The motion sensor is used only during a focus session, to notice if you pick up your phone. Its readings never leave the device.

Who is responsible

Focus Atelier is published by VF TECNOLOGIA LTDA, who is responsible for the data described here (the “data controller”). Contact: [email protected].

What stays on your device

The app keeps the following in its own storage on your iPhone:

  • your critter’s name, color, hat and accessories, and your daily goal;
  • your settings (language, sounds, alerts, text size and so on);
  • your focus history: start and end, length, mode, tag and result of each session;
  • paint, golden paint, decorations, unlocked rooms, paintings and the tags you created;
  • a record of your purchases: which product, when, until when it’s valid, and the transaction number.

This data is used only to make the app work. It isn’t sent to any server of ours: we don’t have one.

Motion sensor (accelerometer)

During a focus session, if “Smudge the painting if I pick up the phone” is on (Settings › General), the app reads the accelerometer about 5 times per second to notice when the phone is picked up from where it was resting. The readings are analyzed on the spot, in the device’s memory, and then discarded: they’re never saved or sent anywhere. Only the result of the session is kept in your history (for example, “interrupted: picked up the phone”).

Outside a focus session, the app doesn’t use the sensor. You can turn this option off at any time.

Notifications

The daily reminder, the end-of-break alert and the alert when you leave the app mid-focus are local notifications: iOS schedules them on your iPhone itself, and no server sends them. iOS asks for your permission first, and you can turn each one off in the app’s Settings or in the iPhone’s Settings.

The “News and offers” option only saves your choice for the future; right now nothing is sent.

Widget and Live Activity

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widget reads a summary that the app saves in a space shared only between the app and its widget, on your iPhone (an App Group): your critter’s name and look, today’s minutes, your goal, your streak, your paint and the start and end time of the current session. The Live Activity, which shows a session in progress on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, receives the same kind of information directly from the app, through iOS.

None of this leaves the device, and no server updates it. If you add the widget to the Lock Screen, or a Live Activity is running, this information is visible there.

Backup

“Export file” (or “Export as text”) creates a copy of your app data, without any session in progress. You choose where to save it or who to share it with, through the iPhone’s share sheet; we don’t receive a copy. If you keep the file in a cloud service (such as iCloud Drive), that service’s privacy policy applies.

When you import a backup, any purchases in the file are ignored: Pro and the packs come back through “Restore purchases”.

Purchases: Apple and RevenueCat

Focus Atelier Pro and the packs are paid through the App Store. Apple charges you and handles your payment details under the Apple Privacy Policy. We never receive your name, your Apple Account or your card details.

To show prices, complete and restore purchases, and check whether Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a service of RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) that verifies purchases with Apple. RevenueCat receives:

  • an anonymous ID, created at random by the app, with no link to your name, email or Apple Account;
  • the purchase history of that ID: products, dates, validity, price and currency, store country and transaction numbers;
  • technical connection data, such as the app and iOS versions and the IP address, which any internet service receives.

The app contacts RevenueCat even if you never buy anything, to show prices and check for purchases; in that case there is no purchase history. We use this data only to unlock and restore what you bought and to see sales figures in the RevenueCat dashboard. We don’t use it for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites.

RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf, under the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. Because RevenueCat is based in the United States, this data may be processed outside your country.

What we don’t collect

We don’t ask for your name, email, phone number or location. There’s no login, no advertising, no usage analytics and no tracking: the app doesn’t use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and never asks for permission to track you. The app doesn’t read your other apps, contacts, photos or notifications, and doesn’t use the camera or the microphone.

If you contact support

When you tap “Contact support” or “Send a suggestion”, the app opens your email app with a ready-made message that includes details such as the app version and the system. We only receive what you choose to send: your email address and your message. We use them only to reply, and we delete them if you ask.

Information Apple shares with us

Apple may show us aggregated statistics in App Store Connect, such as downloads and sales, and crash reports from people who chose to share analytics with app developers in the iPhone’s settings. This information doesn’t identify you.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no scripts and no analytics tools. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical access data (such as the IP address) to deliver the pages and protect against abuse, under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

How long data is kept and how to delete it

  • On your device: the data stays until you use Settings › About › Start over from scratch (which erases your progress but keeps your purchases) or delete the app (which erases everything the app saved on the device).
  • At RevenueCat: the anonymous ID and the purchase history are kept for as long as they’re needed to confirm and restore your purchases. To ask for them to be deleted, write to [email protected]; we may ask for a detail of the purchase (such as the order ID on Apple’s receipt) to find the record. Your purchases remain valid with Apple and can come back through “Restore purchases”, which creates a new record.
  • Support emails: kept for as long as we need them to help you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the European Union or the LGPD in Brazil), you can ask to access, correct, receive a copy of or delete your personal data, and object to its processing. The data on your device is under your direct control. For the data held by RevenueCat and for support emails, write to [email protected].

We process purchase data to perform the purchase contract you entered into, and support emails to answer your request. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Children

The app doesn’t ask anyone, of any age, for personal data, and it has no ads or tracking. If a child makes a purchase, RevenueCat receives the same anonymous data described above. Purchases follow App Store rules, including Apple’s parental controls (such as Family Sharing and Screen Time).

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently (for example, if it ever gets accounts or cloud sync), this policy will be updated beforehand, explaining what changes, with a new date at the top of the page.
